Tree Plantation Campaign named  “Ek Pedh Shaheed Ke naam” carried in Karnah’s  Schools.

Karnah,:A tree plantation campaign named “Ek Pedh Shaheed Ke Naam” (A Tree for the Martyr) was initiated in various schools in Karnah. Zonal Education Officer Karnah, Shah Mohammad, participated in the event by planting a tree in memory of martyr Sageer Ahmed Pathan at the TAD GMS School premises. The event emphasized the importance of cleanliness and its significance in our daily lives.

Students and school staff participated enthusiastically, pledging to maintain cleanliness and contribute to the Swachh Bharat Mission. They also paid tribute to martyr Sagir Pathan. The Zonal Education Officer praised the school staff, expressing his appreciation for the initiative and looking forward to seeing the sapling grow into a strong tree symbolizing commitment to cleanliness and patriotism.

In a similar effort, Saffi Memorial New Light School Tangdhar also launched a tree plantation campaign in memory of martyr Head Constable Mumtaz Ahmed Awan. The tree was planted by his father, Rahmat Ali Awan. Mumtaz Ahmed was martyred in a militant attack in Srinagar’s Press Colony. the daughter of Abdul Rahman, a soldier martyred in 1996 in Zangli, Kupwara, planted a tree in her father’s memory.

The event saw participation from the school’s principal, Mohammad Shafi Awan, teachers, and students. The principal stated that this initiative aims to foster a sense of patriotism and responsibility towards the motherland among citizens, and to help save the environment by planting more trees.
