Mandi,|| In alignment with the Swachhta Pakhwada activities and under the directives of the Director of School Education Jammu and Deputy Commissioner Poonch, the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Mandi, Anwar Khan, spearheaded a significant Cleanliness Drive and Awareness Rally today. The rally commenced at Middle School Mandi and concluded at Imamia Park Mandi, marking a successful event that highlighted community involvement and environmental consciousness.
The initiative saw active participation from 112 students and 8 staff members, alongside Zonal Education Officer Mandi, Anwar Khan. The participants enthusiastically engaged in cleaning the areas surrounding Middle School Mandi, the adjacent Mohalla, localities around the school, and Imamia Park Mandi. The effort not only improved the local environment but also served as a practical demonstration of the Swachhta Pakhwada’s core message.
During his interaction with the students at Imamia Park, Anwar Khan underscored the significance of Swachhta Pakhwada, a fortnight-long cleanliness campaign launched by the Government of India. This initiative aims to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation practices across the country, emphasizing the importance of a clean environment for health and well-being. He highlighted the relevance of such activities in fostering a sense of responsibility among students and community members toward maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings.
Anwar Khan also elaborated on the “Ek Paed Shaheedon Ke Naam” plantation drive, an initiative dedicated to planting trees in memory of martyrs. He stressed the dual benefits of this drive: honoring the sacrifices of martyrs and contributing to environmental sustainability by increasing green cover. By encouraging students to participate in this plantation drive, Khan aimed to instill values of patriotism and environmental stewardship among the younger than generation.
A pivotal moment of the event was the administration of the Swachhta Pledge by ZEO Mandi, Anwar Khan, to all 120 participants. The pledge reinforced the commitment of students and staff to uphold cleanliness and hygiene in their daily lives and to actively participate in Swachhta Pakhwada activities. This collective vow aimed to engrain the principles of cleanliness and civic responsibility within the community.
This program is part of a series of events organized under the supervision of Zonal Education Officer Mandi across all schools in Zone Mandi Poonch. These activities are designed to create a widespread impact by involving students, teachers, and the local government community in the Swachhta Pakhwada mission. Other notable educators who interacted with the students included Imtiaz Ahmed Teacher, Shivani Misri Teacher, Shabir Mehmood, Sunil Raina Physical Education Teacher, and Liaqat Ali Safvi. Their engagement provided additional perspectives and reinforced the collective effort toward cleanliness and environmental awareness.
