Swachhta Pakhwada: YSS Sparks Cleanliness Drive Among J&K’s Youth with Exciting Activities

Srinagar August 01: The Department of Youth Services and Sports in J&K spearheaded a series of impactful initiatives across all sports zones within the UT to raise awareness among school children, young individuals, and the community at large regarding the significance of cleanliness and the essence of the day. These efforts included engaging activities such as sports activities, debates, seminars plantation drives, essay writing and painting competitions centered on the theme of cleanliness, inter-school debates, as well as seminars and discussions conducted on the subject. These events were meticulously conducted in all 20 districts of J&K.
Director of the Department, Subash Chander Chibber, conveyed a message to the youth of J&K, emphasizing this year’s theme he urged everyone, especially the tech-savvy youth, to wholeheartedly embrace the idea of mobilizing their friends and family via their social media handles and pages about the importance of clean environment for a healthy and disease free lifestyle of human beings. Chibber expressed his delight at the successful execution of these diverse activities by the dedicated field staff of the Department of YSS, highlighting the positive impact they have had in fostering a culture of cleanliness and environmental consciousness among the youth of J&K. In most of the districts in J&K, the day started with a pledge taking ceremony under the banner of Swachhta Pakhwada. Later on cleanliness drives and other exciting activities were organized which were attended and witnessed by a large number of students and field staff of the Department. The participants joined together with great zeal to promote cleanliness and hygiene in their communities.
