Madrassa gutted in Budgam fire

Budgam, Jul 23,: A fire broke out at Madrassa Khawaja Gareeb Nawaz in Gundpana Khanshib Panagund area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday night, causing significant damage to the building.

Local residents told the news agency Kashmir News Trust the fire, suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, partially gutted the Madrassa.

Fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the scene and brought the blaze under control.

However, the extent of the damage is significant in the first floor of the Madrassa with the windows and roof gutted completely. (KNT)
