BANDIPORA JULY 03: The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) on Wednesday organized a grievance redressal camp at Mantrigam Bandipora, aimed to address and resolve various issues related to the rights and welfare of children.
The camp, presided over by Member NCPCR, Dr. Divya Gupta, witnessed participation from parents, guardians, children and concerned citizens who came forward to voice their concerns and seek assistance.
Officers from various departments, including education, health, and social welfare, were also present to assist in resolving the issues brought forward.
The primary objective of the camp was to provide a platform for immediate redressal of grievances pertaining to child rights violations.
In his welcome address, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman apprised the Member NCPCR regarding various child welfare initiatives of district including establishment of child care Institutes.
During the grievance redressal camp, various issues were raised, including concerns related to educational rights, healthcare access besides voilation of child rights, and other related issues.
After listening to the grievances and issues raised by the children and the parents, Dr. Divya Gupta enjoined upon department heads to initiate prompt action for the timely resolution of these issues.
Dr. Divya, while addressing the gathering, highlighted the role of NCPCR in resolving issues of child rights violations.
In her address, member NCPCR stressed the importance of education for children and the role of education in a child’s development and future success.
Dr. Divya Gupta urged all participants to contact NCPCR whenever they encounter issues related to child rights violations.
Dr Divya Gupta also stressed upon the need to create awareness about the institutions under Mission Vatsalya such as DCPU/ CWC/ CHL/ JJB so that people use their services to ensure no child is left behind.
She said NCPCR is working to ensure that the voices of children and their families are heard and that timely action is taken to protect and uphold their rights.
On the occasion, stalls were also set up by different departments, including health, education, ICDS, Social Welfare and others, to acquaint the general public about the schemes being implemented by them.
The program also witnessed cultural performance by students of Army Goodwill School Bandipora.
During the grievance redressal camp, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman, SSP Lakshay Sharma, ADDC Mohammad Ashraf Bhatt, ACR Shabir Ahmad wani, District Child Protection Officer (DSWO) Sahir Majeed and other district and sectoral officers were also present.
