Police seizes 09 vehicles involved in illegal mining in Baramulla, 9 arrested

May 28: “`Cracking a whip on illegal mining of minerals at Gonipora, Kunzer, Monagam, Old Town Baramulla, Police seized 09 vehicles (07 tippers & 02 tractors) and arrested their drivers.

The Police initiated the action under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla, SDPO Tangmarg & SDPO Kreeri.

The police seized 07 Tippers, 02 Tractors & arrested 9 drivers identified as Waseem Ahmad Shah son of Ab Salam resident of Batpora Kunzer, Manzoor Ahmad Reshi son of Ab Ahad, Bashir Ahmad Reshi son of Gh Rasool, both residents of Pariswani, Showkat Ahmad Para son of Gh Mohd resident of Kachwa Muqam Chandoosa, Gh Hassan son of Ab Rahman, Bilal Ahmad Lone son of Wali Mohd, both residents of Jal-Sheeri, Zubair Ahmad Khan son of Ab Aziz resident of Drangbal, Azad Ahmad Itoo son of Gh Mohiuddin resident of Bharampora Watergam & Riyaz Ahmad Bhat son of Khazir Mohd resident of Ladoora.

They were found involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals and accordingly cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in PS Kunzer, PS Baramulla & PS Kreeri and investigations have been taken up.“`
