BJP District Srinagar Organizes Peaceful Protest Against Killing of Aijaz Ahmed Sheikh

Srinagar, 21 May 2024 – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District Srinagar today paid tribute to Shaheed Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh, with all members participating, and organized a peaceful protest at the BJP District Headquarters in Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar. The demonstration was held to condemn the recent killing of former Sarpanch and BJP leader Aijaz Ahmed Sheikh, who was tragically murdered in Shopian.

Shri Ashok Bhat addressed the assembled protesters, highlighting the need for justice and expressing solidarity with the family of Aijaz Ahmed Sheikh. He emphasized that the peaceful protest was a demonstration of the BJP’s commitment to standing against violence and terror. The protesters raised slogans condemning the heinous act and called for immediate action.

Shri Ashok Bhat stated that immediate action must be taken regarding the Deputy Commissioner of Shopian, as he delayed the response to the query given by the BJP District team for accommodation and necessary actions, which should have been taken prior to this killing. Slogans were raised against the Deputy Commissioner of Shopian, with protesters chanting, “Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Haye Haye.”

Additionally, slogans were raised against Pakistan, urging them to stop supporting terror attacks. Protesters chanted, “Pakistan murdabad murdabad,” and “Stop the innocent killings.”

This peaceful protest underscores the BJP’s determination to fight against terrorism and seek justice for Shaheed Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh.

The protest saw the participation of all the following leaders: Senior leader Dr. Ali Mohammad, Media Incharge Saba Ali, Vice Presidents Bashir Ahmed Mir, Dr. Ashok Koul, Uzair Beigh and Khalid Baqaal, State Secretary Add. General Secretary Sameer Rashid, and District Secretary Munner Shah. Nasir Youth President Vistarks Riyaz Ahmed, Mahraaj Din and Constituency Presidents with their teams.
