Kishtwar, May 15: The Cybercrime Investigation Unit Kishtwar of Jammu & Kashmir Police has once again demonstrated its commitment to combating cybercrime by successfully solving a case and recovering online defrauded funds amounting to *Rs. 1,64,460 (One lakh sixty-four thousand four hundred sixty only).*

District Police Kishtwar, while sharing the details, stated that a complaint was received from one Renu Devi. The complaint outlined that she received a link regarding the purchasing of UltraTech cement. Subsequently, she continuously sent money, totaling Rs. 2,15,000, and was eventually defrauded.

During the enquiry into the instant complaint, the Cybercrime Investigation Unit Kishtwar displayed relentless efforts and advanced technical skills, leading to the successful recovery of the defrauded amount of Rs. 1,64,460.

Throughout the year, the team of the Cybercrime Investigation Unit Kishtwar received numerous reports regarding online scams. They were able to successfully recover a total amount of Rs. 8,80,906 (Eight lakh eighty thousand nine hundred six).

District Police Kishtwar reiterates its appeal to the general public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious online activities to the National Cybercrime Helpline Number 1930 or the CCIU unit Kishtwar at 9103416100, PCR Kishtwar at 9906154100, 9103454100. The Police also encourages citizens to lodge complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in and www.ceir.gov.in for lost or stolen mobile phones. District Police Kishtwar, equipped with advanced technology and skilled personnel, remains at the forefront of the fight against cybercriminals.
