Teethwal, Karnah Tehsil, May 8, 2024 – Amid discreet security measures, a grand rally commemorating democracy unfolded today at the Teethwal a border village of Karnah Teshil. The event, emanating from the last polling station in the nation, witnessed the vibrant participation of three prominent figures, Senior Officers, at the border village of Teethwal in Karnah Tehsil.

As preparations for the Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir intensify, the rally emphasized the fundamental duty of citizens to cast their votes. General Observer Dependar Kumar IAS, addressing the rally, underscored the importance of exercising the right to vote, labeling it as the cornerstone of democracy. He stressed that democracy flourishes when individuals actively choose their preferred candidates.

Amid the presence of police and security personnel, the event also showcased cultural programs. Police observer Ravi Shankara IPS highlighted the stringent security arrangements in border areas, reassuring voters of their safety.

District Election Officer Ayushi Sudhan IAS speaking to the media, emphasized the significance of the rally held at Teethwal, the last border village of the country. She reiterated the goal of encouraging a high voter turnout and ensuring voters are well-informed about the electoral process.

Under the guidance of the District Administration, the event featured renowned artists exhibiting their talents and school childrens’ presenting cultural programs, fostering engagement with attendees.

The presence of Chief Education Officer Kupwara, SSP Kupwara, DC Kupwara, SDM Karnah, along with other senior officers, added gravity to the occasion, reaffirming their commitment to facilitating a smooth and informed voting process.
