BUDGAM, MAY 09: In order to promote, encourage voter literacy and participation in the electoral process, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam under the Aegis of JKLSA organized door to door and street campaign under SVEEP across length and breadth of district Budgam.
The campaign was held under the guidance of Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman DLSA (Pr.Distt. and Session Judge) Budgam, and under the supervision of Jehangir Ahmad Bakshi, Secretary DLSA Budgam.
On the occasion, PLVs educated the people about the right to vote through door to door awareness, which was followed by a rally that commenced from Khansahib Budgam in collaboration with Govt Higher Secondary School Khansahib and Municipality Khansahib.
The rally went through the streets of Town Khansahib and various hamlets of Tehsil Khansahib to promote the slogan “No Voter to be Left behind”.
The campaigners also raised awareness among the general public about the importance of voting in choosing their representative in the democratic setup.
The aim of the campaign was also that the maximum number of people shall take part in the electoral process by educating voters, and spread awareness amongst the masses in general and for the first time voters in particular.
The campaign was joined by the general public, students etc.
