SAMBA, APRIL 24: Government Degree College (GDC), Ramgarh organized a pledge taking ceremony under the campaign ‘Mera Pehle Vote Desh Ke Liye’ here today.

The NSS Unit (Prabha), Electoral Literacy Club and SVEEP unit of the College collectively organized this pledge taking ceremony to raise awareness about promoting democracy and voter participation. The program was organized under the guidance and supervision of the College Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra.

The Principal, in her address, asserted that voting in a democracy is of utmost importance as it lets citizens choose their representatives for forming the government. She further stated that voting and taking part in the electoral process is more than a right and encouraged all the students and faculty members of the college to go for voting in the upcoming elections.

The aim of the event was to remind the young voters about their civic duty to vote and mark the date 26th April, 2024 on their calendars as an important day in democratic process.

The staff and students pledged to actively participate in electoral process and also to encourage their family members, friends and neighbours for maximum participation in upcoming elections.

All the students, NSS volunteers, ELC Members and faculty members took the pledge and showed their commitment towards strengthening the democratic values.
