The initiative taken by the Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department in the district of Poonch under the “Green Jammu and Kashmir Drive” program is commendable. Planting trees in schools not only helps in improving the environment but also educates and involves the younger generation in environmental conservation efforts.

It is heartening to hear that Mr. Pankaj Kumar, the Head of the Institution (HOI), initiated the tree plantation drive and actively participated in planting trees. The presence of forest department officials further highlights the importance of such initiatives and their commitment to promoting green practices.

The appreciation shown by the children towards this act of kindness is a positive sign that they are aware of the importance of environmental conservation and are willing to participate in such activities. It is essential to instill these values in the younger generation to ensure a sustainable future for our planet.

The vote of thanks presented by Khurshid Ahmed, the teacher, and the role of Navida Anjum as the stage secretary in organizing the event are also important aspects of acknowledging and appreciating the efforts put into making the tree plantation drive successful.

Overall, such initiatives not only contribute to increasing green cover but also raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation. It is hoped that more such programs will be organized in the future to further promote a greener and healthier environment in the region.
