Karnah Kupwara:Today, April 14th, 2024, marks the fourth death anniversary of the esteemed actor and artist Mohammad Maqbool Khan, celebrated for his remarkable contributions to the Pahari language. Khan, who departed this world on the same date in 2020, is being fondly remembered and honored in a ceremony held at his gravesite in Lontha Karnah.
The commemorative event is a somber occasion, with attendees offering prayers for Khan’s eternal peace and seeking forgiveness for his departed soul.
Mohammad Maqbool Khan’s journey in the realm of arts began during his tenure in the Police Department’s CID Wing in Jammu. However, his true calling beckoned when he was later transferred to the Cultural Club in Tongdhar in 1974. It was here that Khan’s talent flourished, captivating audiences with his enchanting voice and captivating performances.
Throughout his illustrious career, spanning from 1973 until his passing, Khan became synonymous with Pahari traditional folk songs and dramas, portraying iconic roles that resonated deeply with the Pahari community.
