In a heartbreaking turn of events, a young man from Hajinar Village of Karnah has been unwittingly thrust into the Russia-Ukraine conflict after falling victim to a deceptive job offer. His parents, Mohammad Amin Sheikh and Jameela Begum, are now enduring the agony of separation and pleading for his safe return.

Zahoor Ahmed Sheikh, a recent BTech graduate, was enticed by promises of a security guard position in Russia, only to find himself enrolled in the military without his consent. His father, Mohammad Amin Sheikh, shared the harrowing details, recounting how his son was recruited under false pretenses after being asked to gather 300,000 rupees for the supposed job opportunity.”We are ailing husband and wife, unable to leave the house, and no one is coming forward to help. Our only demand is that our child be recovered and sent to me so that a young son’s sight can be the fate of parents in this age,” lamented Mohammad Amin Sheikh.

The family’s suffering is compounded by the memories of their eldest son, Mukhtiar Mohammad, who perished during the Kargil War. The psychological toll of another son’s separation, coupled with the stark reality of war, has left Zahoor’s parents mentally distressed.

The modus operandi of this job scam is becoming clearer, with revelations from President Assaduddin Owaisi of the United Muslims highlighting the involvement of agents like Faisal Khan, operating under the alias ‘Baba Bulags,’ and his associates in Dubai and Mumbai. These agents exploited unsuspecting youth, including Zahoor, by promising employment and then coercively deploying them into a war zone.

Recent developments, such as the CBI’s intervention in a similar case involving a youth from Pulwama, underscore the urgency for authorities to pursue justice and secure the safe return of those ensnared in these schemes.

Mohammad Amin Sheikh and Jameela Begum’s plight epitomizes the anguish faced by many families caught in the web of fraudulent recruitment practices. As the international community learns of these distressing accounts, urgent and concerted efforts are required to bring the perpetrators to justice and repatriate those trapped in conflict zones against their will.

The desperation of parents like Mohammad Amin Sheikh and Jameela Begum serves as a sobering reminder of the human cost behind these deceitful tactics, urging swift action to prevent further tragedies and reunite families torn apart by exploitation and conflict.
