Door-to-Door voter awareness campaign under SVEEP held in tribal areas of Rajouri
RAJOURI, APRIL 07: To fortify voters awareness and participation among tribal communities, the District team of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation Program (SVEEP), in collaboration with SVEEP team 87 Thannamandi Sub Division, targeted key locations of Kalyan-Pattian and Lower Bhangai-Slampura in Thannamandi by organising door to door awareness campaign.
District Election Officer (District Development Commissioner), Om Prakash Bhagat spearheaded this initiative, underscoring the critical importance of inclusive electoral participation.
Led by members including Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Raina (Nodal Officer SVEEP), Prof. Khalid Rayaz, Mohd Ayaz Raina lecturer, Prof. Ather Aziz, and Ashiq Shawl, the SVEEP team engaged in extensive dialogues with tribal community members both at Kalyan-Pattian and Lower Bhangai-Slampura, emphasizing their constitutional right to vote.
Emphasizing the pivotal role of every registered member in the household, the visiting team urged full participation in the upcoming elections, aiming to surpass the 75% voting turnout target set by the Election Commission of India.
The SVEEP team expressed gratitude to the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for their instrumental role in facilitating this awareness session, which is instrumental in fostering a vibrant democratic ethos within tribal communities.
