Bandipora:- The Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Baramulla, In collaboration with new Green Land Senoir Secondary School Sumbal organized a day-long Neighbourhood Youth Parliament programme at Sumbal on monday.

 

The SSP Civil Secretariat Nighat Aman was chief guest on the occasion She was accompanied by Chairman New Green Land Senoir Secondary School Syed Sajad Hussain and other Dignitaries Of the Institution.

 

The main objective of the programme was to create an institutional platform right up to the village level, where the youth can articulate their views on various issues and draw the attention of the local administration to such issues/ concerns affecting their lives.

 

Secondly it was to develop a platform of youth clubs further in the shape of vibrant ‘Neighbourhood Youth Parliament’ so as to educate the youth club members about contemporary socio-economic development issues confronting local communities in general and the youth in particular and to involve them in debates/ discussions on such issues.

 

Students also share their experiences and ideas; debate various issues concerning the society and youth in particular by means of neighbourhood youth Parliament.

 

The programme was also aimed at strengthening and enhancing the existing network of Youth Clubs and Mahila Mandals with representation from all sections of society.

 

A large number of participants both male and female were present in the said programme besides NYK and Youth Club Members, Asha workers, Civil Society Memebers, and Parents also attend the programme.
