The District Election Officer,Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today chaired an interaction session with media persons at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex Shopian here today in order to acquaint media persons about Model Code of Conduct (MCC) guidelines and various other media matters.

Detailed discussions were held to ensure better coordination between the District Administration and Media agencies to facilitate better connect between administration and media especially during the Lok Sabha Elections.

Speaking on occasion, DEO highlighted the vital role of media towards the furtherance of fair and free elections.
The media were sensitised on MCC, Media matters including PCI, NBSA and ECI Guidelines and Voluntary Code of Ethics on media engagement and Election coverage.

The meeting was attended by Dy.District Election Officer, Jahanger Ahmad,District Information Officer, Shopian, Showkat Hussain Ganie, besides media persons representing different print and electronic media organisations.
