Rajouri,The district administration Rajouri has imposed a ban on carrying weapons during the coming Lok sabha elections.

“In view of General Election to Lok Sabha-2024, prohibitory orders under section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code 1973 require to be issued banning the carrying of licensed arms which is essential to ensure law and order.” Reads the order of the administration,
“Therefore, I Rajeev Kumar Khajuria, JKAS, Additional District Magistrate, Rajouri by virtue of powers vested in me under Section 144 of Cr. Pc do hereby order that there shall be complete ban on carrying of licensed arms w.e.f today ie March 16, 2024 throughout District Rajouri.” It reads.

“Any person, if found carrying licensed arms, for any purpose whatsoever, after the issuance of this order, shall be dealt under law, the weapon shall be seized and license shall be cancelled without further opportunity. However, the security guards involved in escorting vehicles carrying cash to Bank/ATM’s and Bank/ ATM guards are exempted from this order.” It reads.

“Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajouri shall ensure the compliance of this order through concerned SHOs.”
