Seeks fool proof plan execution for conducting LS Elections smoothly

SHOPIAN, MARCH 14: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, who is also District Election Officer (DEO) today, chaired a meeting of Nodal Officers responsible for overseeing the forthcoming Lok Sabha General Elections 2024, here at Mini Secretariat Shopian.

The meeting focused on ensuring the readiness of all the officers involved in the electoral process in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, DC instructed the Nodal Officers to remain well-equipped with election processes, acquire domain knowledge and know their roles and responsibilities so that execution is done effectively for the smooth conduct of elections.

Discussions encompassed various operational, logistical and administrative matters for the smooth conduct of the electoral process.

Nodal Officers were given a comprehensive briefing regarding their roles and responsibilities in overseeing the electoral process within their respective jurisdictions.

DC laid emphasis on enhancing operational efficiency and coordination among different stakeholders involved in the electoral process, including law enforcement agencies, administrative authorities and electoral staff.

Nodal Officers were reminded of the importance of strict adherence to electoral laws, regulations and ethical standards to uphold the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.

Strategies for conducting voter awareness campaigns, EVM training, Assured Minimum Facilities including Ramp Facilities, Postal Ballot and initiatives to encourage maximum voter participation were discussed to ensure inclusive and democratic elections.

The meeting was attended by SSP, Shopian, Tanushree; Additional District Development Commissioner, Dr.Nasir Ahmed Lone; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; ACR, SDM, ACD, Dy. DEO, ACP, ASP, and all the Nodal Officers appointed for various election assignments in the district.
