Market Checking intensified in Handwara town

Kupwara, March 13: To prevent overpricing, illegal profiteering and black marketing by business establishments, operating at Handwara town, Additional Deputy Commissioner( ADC) Handwara, Aziz Ahmad Rather leading an officers’ team conducted a market checking drive across Handwara town of Kupwara district today.
Market checking team was consisting of (EO) MC Handwara, Farhana Showkat, SHO Showkat Ahmad and Food experts which conducted market checking across the Handwara town to ensure all essential commodities are sold at Government approved rates as per the quality standards with sufficient availability of consumables.

Meanwhile, the Additional Deputy Commissioner stressed on owners of all Business establishments/shopkeepers to maintain quality and standard of essential commodities and ensure all essential commodities are sold at Government approved rates. He asked the Market checking teams to continue the drive across all the markets of the town.

While interacting with the shopkeepers, the ADC asked them to display rate lists at prominent places and adhere to the rates approved and ensure quality and freshness of eatables.
Additional Deputy Commisioner while interacting with Media Persons said that encroachment of footpaths and pavements will not be tolerated at any cost, he urged the traders and street vendors to vacate the encroachments of footpaths and pavements so that people especially pedestrians don’t face problems.
