Bandipora, 11 Mar: Winter Cosco Cricket tournament concluded at Sports Groud Naidkhai area in Bandipora district on Monday afternoon.

The Gounchipora sports defeated Zalpora sports in the tight Final match and lifted the title of winter casco cricket tournament which witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of cricket fans along with distinguished guests.

The closing ceremony of the event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests and dignitaries.
Chief Guest Of the event was Syed Showkat Andrabi Chairman of Gayoor Foundation, Dr Zaffar, Army Officer Captt Mayak, Senior Journalist Syed Tajammul, Khazir Mohammad Ganie Ex Sports Incharge Bandiopora.
The occasion was further honored by the presence of Founder and Chairperson of Care Foundation and Charitable Trust Ms Mehjabeen Nabi and other notable personalities of the area were also present on the glittering opening ceremony.

The students of New Crescent School Naidkhai and Global Wisdom Public Shahgund alongwith hundreds of spectators watched the live proceedings of the finale match which was played at sports ground Naidkhai and people of the area also encouraged players by their presence.

Tournament was organised by Care Foundation and Charitable Trust in which more than 32 teams from different villages participated in the tournament.

Speaking on the sideline of the event Chairperson Ms Mehjabeen Nabi said that the main motive of this Winter Cosco cricket tournament was to encourage the girls to take up sports as a career, It left a lasting impression on both participants and spectators, exemplifying the power of sports in fostering positive social change.

She further said that the Care Foundation and Charitable Trust has always worked hand in hand for promoting sports, modern education, women empowerment and various other noble activities for development in the Kashmir valley.

Meanwhile, the players Thanked Chairperson Mehjabeen Nabi and expressed their gratitude towards Care Foundation and Charitable Trust for organising such tournaments in their area.

Players hoped that more tournaments should be conducted in the near future also for them because games and sports are the best means of fitness.

However’ locals of the area appreciated the efforts of Care Foundation and Charitable Trust and said that such events not only showcased the local talent but also give boost to the sports activities in the far flung areas.

At the end of the finale match prizes were distributed among the players chief guests and journalists of the function.
