SRINAGAR, MARCH 06: Women Studies Centre, Govt. College of Education (GCoE) in collaboration with White Globe Organization and supported by UNS today organized an event to celebrate Women’s Day.

Prof. (Dr) Seema Naz, Principal of the college presented a welcome address and spoke about women and their rights. She highlighted the significance of women and how giving a platform to women can make them achieve their goals and dreams.

She said that both men and women should amplify the voices of women.

Advocate Syed Junaid Saadat, Chairman, White Globe NGO talked about the different challenges and struggles girls and women face in their day to day life and at different stages.

Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman Aryan Group of Colleges highlighted the work of students of UT of J&K.

He spoke about the enthusiasm shown by both boys and girls of the UT in the field of education and extra-curricular activities. He proudly shed light on the different records set by the students of UT particularly on Boat Race, Online Aryans Shikara registration portal.

The event gained momentum when Mehmeet Syed (Singer) threw light on women empowerment and sang a few lines of a Kashmiri song.

A Mushaira was organized by UNS in which Dr. Nighat Farooq Nazar and few other eminent poetesses recited some verses in context with International Women’s Day.

Principal of the host college presented mementos to Dr. Anshu Kataria, Advocate Syed Junaid Saadat, and Advocate Sheikh Saba.

In the felicitation ceremony around 50 women achievers were felicitated by Prof. (Dr) Seema Naz, Dr. Anshu Kataria, Adv. Syed Junaid Saadat and Adv. Sheikh Saba.
