Efficient Execution of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Program in Karnah Subdivision

KUPWARA, MARCH 3: Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) was carried out smoothly across border Karnah sub division today. The goal of the Immunization programme is to eradicate Poliomyelitis and to vaccinate all children under five years of age against Polio virus.
According to Block Medical Officer Karnah, there was a target of 9818 children to be immunized under the IPPI programme. He informed that 66 Pulse Polio Booths were established across the sub division for which 277 functionaries including 100 Anganwari Workers, 92 ASHAs, 72 Health Workers and 13 Supervisors were deputed for carrying out the Immunization programmes smoothly.
In this connection, Tehsildar Karnah, CDPO, ZEO and other concerned officers today paid visit to various polio booths to monitor the exercise of pulse polio. It was informed that 7 neonates delivered during last night were also administered pulse polio drops.
Last week, the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan had chaired a meeting of District Task Force for Pulse Polio Immunization Programme during which she stressed upon the officers to ensure complete immunization of the targeted children population in the district and nobody is left behind.
