_Illegal extraction & transportation of minerals_ Police seizes 4 vehicles, arrests 4 drivers in Baramulla

February 29: “`Cracking a whip on illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 4 vehicles and arrested 4 drivers in Baramulla.

Police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by Incharge PP Delina seized 03 vehicles (Tractors) & arrested 3 drivers involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Delina Ghat. The accused drivers have been identified as Nisar Ahmad Bhat son of Mohd Ramzan resident of Delina Kralpora, Farooq Ahmad Tantray son of Gh Mohd resident of Delina Rawthpora & Danish Maqbool son of Mohd Maqbool Sofi resident of Juhama.

Moreover, police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SHO PS Kunzer, seized a vehicle (Tipper) & arrested driver namely Abdul Qayoom Khan son of Mohd Ramzan resident of Haji Baag District Budgam involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Dhobiwan Kunzer.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and further investigation have been initiated.

Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.“`
