KULGAM, FEBRUARY 12: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today convened a meeting, here to review the implementation of the ICDS schemes and programmes including nutritional support system, health services, immunization, and non formal pre-school education to children in the age group 0 to 6-years.

District Programme Officer (DPO) ICDS Kulgam through a PowerPoint presentation apprised the chair that there are 1181 operational Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) in the district. He informed that in order to meet the staff deficiencies 45 Workers and 148 Anganwadi helpers will be engaged on already advertised posts.

The meeting discussed in detail the ICDS operations, availability of accommodations and facilities at all Aganwadi centers.

The DC asked the CDPOs and supervisors to visit their Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) on regular intervals to assess working of these centres and to enhance the effectiveness of services to the targeted children, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women.

Giving the expenditure details, DPO informed that under SNP an expenditure of Rs. 3.61 crore out of 5.08 crore was made, besides 19 lac out of 32.68 lac have been expended on medicinal kits.

The DC instructed the concerned officers to ensure full expenditure of funds under SNP is made within a few days.

The meeting was attended by DPO, Abdul Rasheed; JD Planning, Zahid Sajjad; CDPOs, BDOs and other officers.
