Bandipora, January 10: District Administration Bandipora on Wednesday organised a public darbar cum grievance redressal camp at Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat Bandipora to get first hand appraisal of various issues faced by local people and other adjacent areas.

The public darbar was presided by Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shakeel Ur Rehman Rather and was attended by traders association Bandipora, transporters, prominent citizens, besides locals of district Bandipora.

On the occasion, the general public put forth various demands relating to the improvement of roads, proper drainage system in main town Bandipora besides establishment of public toilets and beautification of Nishat Park and town Bandipora.

Demand for bypass road to district Bandipora was also raised by civil society members. The people also demanded the long pending issues related to District Hospital Bandipora, including augmentation of staff and medical facilities.

Truck Owners Association Bandipora led Arshad Hussain Rather raised the issue of relocation of municipality check post issue at papchan which which becomes a major reason for traffic jam.

Speaking on the occasion, Rather said that holding public interaction programs enables administration to have an on spot status of developmental programs besides other welfare initiatives, schemes run by various departments relating to all sectors.

The DC directed health officials to ensure basic facilities in all the health institutions falling within the region, especially keeping in view the ongoing winter season.

The DC, on the occasion, urged the public to cooperate with administration and submit all requirements pertaining to their areas in consultation with PRIs.

While ensuring proper disposal of the concerns raised by the people, the DC said that district administration is committed to the welfare of people. Locals on the occasion praised the efforts of district administration and welcomed Shakeel Ur Rehman for being posted as DC Bandipora.

Among others, ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, ADC Bandipora Umar Shafi, Exen R&B and Exen Jal Shakti Department, other officers from line departments were present on the ocassion.
