Saurabh Bhagat today visited Government ITI Shopian

Commissioner Secretary, Science and Technology and Skill Development Department, Saurabh Bhagat today visited Government ITI Shopian where he took part in the e -inauguration of the first batch of Training under PM Vishwakarma Scheme in presence of District Development Commissioner Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb and other concerned stakeholders.

The e- Inauguration was done by Advisor to LG, Rajiv Rai Batnagar. During the ceremony, Commissioner Secretary, DC Shopian and selected trainees interacted with the Advisor on operation of the scheme and its launch in the district.

 

Speaking on the occasion,Commisioner Secretary, underscored the pivotal role of PM Vishwakarma Scheme which plays a pivotal role in equipping the artisans and youth with skills that align with industry demands, thus enabling them to become valuable contributors to the economy. He elaborated on the numerous initiatives

undertaken by PM Vishwakarma Scheme to enhance the skill set and employability of the local youth.

 

Commissioner Secratary emphasised that how skill training not only narrows the unemployment gap but also brings in opportunities for job creation.

 

Commissioner Secratary said that the youth of the district should come forward, get themselves registered with PM Vishwakarma Scheme meant for the wellbeing of the artisans, who can also get toolkit of Rs. 15000= besides a loan of Rs. 3 lakhs for esblishing different business units so that they can be able to stand on their own legs, earn for themselves and also be able to become job providers than job seekers.

 

Commissioner Secratary, during interaction with the trainees, emphasized the need for up skilling to keep pace with changing trends.

He appreciated district administration for becoming the first district in the UT to start the first batch of Training of 30 beneficiaries.He also expressed happiness on the selection of significant number of female Candidates.

 

While addressing the gathering of artisans and trainees,DC Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb said that the launch of PM Vishvakarma Scheme in the district is a good step and the artisans of the district are coming forward to avail of the benefits of the scheme by registering themselves with the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.

 

He informed that more than 5000 candidates have registered themselves in district Shopian till now. He further added that during the trainees, a trainee will also get Rs. 500= stipend monthly for undertaking the training under the scheme and emphasised the role of line departments in the effective implementation of the scheme.

 

At the outset, Commissioner Secretary accompanied by DDC, Director and SSP made inspection of Stalls showcasing beneficiaries oriented schemes.

 

Director, Skill Development, Sudershan Kumar extended a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, participants and collaborators.

 

He highlighted the benefits of the scheme and its impact upon society in general and traditional craftsmen in particular.

 

Certificates were also distributed among the beneficiaries of PMV.

 

Among others SSP, Shopian,Tanushree, Director, SDD, Sudershan Kumar, ADDC, Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone, ADC, Shopian Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz, Joint Director, SDD,

Mohammad Feeroz Ahmed Khan,State Management Officer, NSDC, Kehkashan, Superintendent, ITI, Shopian, Fida Mohammad, officers and officials of ITI and youth in large numbers were present.

 

Later, a variety cultural programme was also presented by school children on the occasion.
