Jammu Dec 22: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) J&K organised the Inter District/Provincial Level selection camp for the National Youth Festival 2024 (NYF-2024) at Abhinav Theatre here.

The district-level contingents of Boys and Girls from across the Jammu division participated in various competitions.

The camp witnessed the exceptional talents of the young and blooming artists of the division, featuring a diverse array of cultural items including group songs, folk music, and dance, as well as solo singing. Moreover, more than 200 participants both boys and girls of Jammu division took part in these competitions.

Director Youth Services and Sports J&K Subash Chander Chhibber, officially declared the festival open. He was accompanied by Bharat Singh Secretary J&K Academy of Art Culture & Languages and Dr. Jagdish Mehra CEO Khadi & Village Industries Board J&K

“We are incredibly excited to host this inter-district/provincial level youth festival, offering a platform for the talented young artists of Kashmir to showcase their skills,” said Director YSS. “We believe that such events play a crucial role in nurturing and encouraging the artistic talents that exist within our community,” he added.

“The festival aims to promote cultural exchange, nurture creativity, and celebrate the rich heritage of Kashmir. With various competitions, performances, and interactive sessions, the event promises to be a memorable occasion for participants and spectators alike.” Joint Director Jammu of the Department of YS&S added. He has also expressed gratitude to all participating districts, artists, and individuals who have supported the successful organization of the camp. “Their contributions have played a pivotal role in making this event possible” JD added.

Pertinently these artists shall compete at UT Level and then depart National Youth festival to be held at Nasik (MS).

The preparatory cum selection camp was organized with the support and tireless efforts of Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu Suram Chand Sharma, Deputy Director Central Jatinder Mishra, Deputy Director Planning Ravi Kumar Sharma, Chief Accounts Officer Sunil Sharma and the other supporting staff.
