The triumphant odyssey of Prabha and her group resonated at Meri Kahani Meri Zubani Segment of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. UMEED, a government initiative, gave wings to their dreams by providing much needed financial empowerment.

Prabha and her group were struggling to make ends meet and lacked the resources and support needed to assuage themselves from difficult circumstances. They yearned for an opportunity that would enable them to break free from the cycle of poverty and dependency. Little did they know that their lives were about to transform with the intervention of the UMEED program.

Through the UMEED program, Prabha and her group were provided with extensive training, mentorship, and financial assistance to establish their own small businesses. The program not only empowered them with the necessary skills and knowledge but also instilled confidence and self-belief in their abilities to succeed.

Prabha and her group decided to venture into the world of handicrafts as they had a passion for creating beautiful artisanal pieces. They established a small cooperative where each member contributed their unique skills and talents, resulting in exquisite handcrafted items.

With the support of the UMEED program, Prabha and her group received guidance on marketing, branding, and setting up distribution channels for their products. They attended workshops and trade fairs, gradually gaining recognition and exposure in the market.

Their determination and hard work soon paid off as their handmade products started gaining popularity not only within their community but also across neighboring towns. They received orders from various boutique stores and even had the opportunity to display their creations at national exhibitions.

As their business grew, so did their revenues. The financial empowerment they experienced was life-changing for Prabha and her group. They were able to provide a better future for their families, educate their children, and improve their overall quality of life.

Prabha proudly recounts how the UMEED program has not only transformed their financial status but also given them a sense of purpose and dignity. They now feel empowered and confident in their abilities to overcome any hurdle that comes their way.

Encouraged by their success, Prabha and her group have also taken the initiative to mentor and support other aspiring entrepreneurs in their community. They believe that their accomplishments can serve as a shining example for others looking to break free from poverty and make a difference in their lives.

The success story of Prabha Khurana and her group from Kathua is a testament to the power of government initiatives like UMEED. Through the program, they have not only achieved financial independence but have also discovered their true potential and transformed their lives for the better.
