DODA, DECEMBER 20 A valedictory programme was organised by Horticulture Department Doda to mark the conclusion of one month Training Programme in the ‘Art of Fruit and Vegetables preservation’ at Thathri.

 

Chief Horticulture officer Doda Rakesh Kotwal was the chief Guest, while the programme was also attended by MCC Bhaderwah Bharat Bhushan, BPM, Abdul Rouf and other officials of the Department. The programme was organized in collaboration with JKRLM Thathri.

 

The Chief Horticulture officer, in his addresses, asked the trainees to establish their own processing units by availing incentives under CAPEX/MIDH PMFMe and Agri Infrastructure Fund exclusively meant for the post harvest Management techniques and to exploit the available potential in the District. “This will not only make you self reliant but also help in doubling their income and reduce the post harvest losses” he said.

 

The Manager cum Chemist Bhaderwah stressed the participants to form Self Help Groups in their respective areas and utilise the knowledge gained in the training programme in preparation and marketing of different value added products to become Atmanirbhar.

 

The programme ended with distribution of Certificates to the participants.
