05 days’ NAFIS Enrolment User Training commences at IT Centre PHQ

Jammu, December 18: The 05 days’ workshop for Enrolment Users of National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS) organised by Crime Branch, J&K in collaboration with Central Finger Print Bureau, NCRB, New Delhi commenced today at IT Centre PHQ Gulshan Ground Jammu. Shri Bhim Sen Tuti, IPS Inspector General of Police (Hqrs./CIV) PHQ/ Traffic J&K who was the Chief Guest inaugurated the programme.

The main aim to organize the workshop is to train the police officers for exploring the full potential of NAFIS in J&K. In the workshop 51 officers/officials of Jammu Zone participated.

 

While addressing the inaugural session Shri Bhim Sen Tuti laid stress upon the use of NAFIS for investigation purposes and importance of NAFIS repository for the purpose of identification and investigation of criminal matters and to preserve records collected.

 

Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo-IPS Dy. Inspector General of Police, Crime Branch J&K gave a brief overview to the NAFIS for creating a national searchable repository of criminal fingerprints by digitalising, storing and processing fingerprints available in all states/UTs.

 

The other officers who were present during the inaugural session were Shri J.S. Johar – IPS AIG Training/Policy PHQ J&K, Shri Zaheer Abass, JKPS Dy SP CRB J&K, Shri Varun Jandyal, JKPS DySP Training PHQ J&K and Shri Jagpal Sharma, DySP, (FP Expert) I/C NAFIS CRB J&K.
