Government Initiatives, Services illuminate highway Town, fosters Positive Change

RAMBAN, DECEMBER 17: Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) Urban today reached the Banihal Town on Sunday fostering awareness about the developmental schemes and initiatives of the Government of India.

The event witnessed the active participation of locals, MC members, besides government officials, including Sub Divisional Magistrate Zaheer Abbas Bhat; BMO, Dr. Ismail; EO Municipal Committee Zulafkar Malik, and other officers from diverse departments.

As the Yatra reached Banihal, a surge of enthusiasm swept through the town attracting huge participation, aligning with the campaign’s objective to engage communities for full saturation of the government’s flagship schemes.

Sub Divisional Magistrate Zaheer Abbas Bhat, addressing the gathering, highlighted the achievements and benefits of various flagship schemes, emphasizing the pivotal role of visionary leadership in reaching out to citizens at their doorsteps.

Notably, the Yatra, under the guidance and directions of DC Ramban, Baseer Ul Haq Chaudhary, has unfolded as an invaluable opportunity to deliver benefits under numerous beneficiary schemes directly to the local people.

The overarching focus of the yatra encompasses creating public awareness and extending the benefits of welfare schemes, ranging from sanitation facilities to essential financial services, electricity connections, access to LPG cylinders, housing for the underprivileged, food security, proper nutrition, reliable healthcare, and clean drinking water.

The government departments provided on-the-spot services to people, including free health checkups, anemia checkup and nutritional awareness by ICDS. Similarly, the Agricultural and Horticultural departments imparted awareness about their scheme awareness, along with loans under PM SVANidhi Yojana. Scores of individuals benefited from the camp, reinforcing the tangible impact of the initiative.

During the event, participants took the “Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat” pledge, expressing their commitment towards making India a developed and self-reliant nation by the year 2047. The occasion also featured the screening of videos showcasing beneficiaries of different departmental schemes under “Meri Kahani Meri Zubani,” coupled with culturally enriching programs.

Among the dignitaries present at the day-long event was Khursheed Yousuf, District Nodal Officer I&B, along with officers from various departments, further amplifying the impact of this monumental initiative.

Worthwhile to mention that Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra on November 15, 2023, from Jharkhand, setting the stage for a nationwide journey covering over 2.55 lakh Gram Panchayats and more than 3,600 urban local bodies by January 25, 2024, reaching every district in the country.
