Srinagar, Dec 07: The news claiming Altaf Bukhari as the finalized candidate for the North Kashmir Parliament seat by the Political Affairs Committee of Apni Party is said to be baseless.
Highly placed Sources said that the committee has not reached a decision, and ongoing talks suggest the possibility of Apni Party contesting the election in alliance with other parties that have considerable support in North Kashmir.
Earlier Party President Altaf Bukhari addressed workers gathering in Bandipora, making it clear that the Apni Party will contest all three Lok Sabha seats, including the Baramulla parliamentary elections, and will field candidates for all three seats. Sources indicate that Usman Majid, Vice President of J&K Apni Party, is emerging as a likely candidate, supported by senior party functionaries.
