JAMMU, NOVEMBER 30: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha interacted with the citizens through virtual mode during “LG’s Mulaqaat”- Live Public Grievance Hearing, at Civil Secretariat.

The Lt Governor took note of the complaints filed by the citizens on JK-IGRAMS and directed for time-bound resolution of their grievances and necessary steps for improving implementation.

He said the speedier execution of programmes is providing tremendous boost to the economy of J&K UT and playing an important role in maintaining standards of transparency and accountability for effective and efficient public delivery system.

“The rapid development and performance of various sectors show the limitless potential of Union Territory and we are determined to transform this potential into reality to change the destiny of J&K in Amrit Kaal,” the Lt Governor said.

Responding to the complaint of Sh Pralad Singh, a resident of Attina, Budgam pertaining to the poor condition of a road in his locality, the Lt Governor directed the Deputy Commissioner Budgam to take appropriate measures to address the issue at the earliest.

On the grievance regarding the completion of the water supply project (Reservoir) in the Chanderseer Tilgam to Wanigam Payeen area, the Additional Chief Secretary, Jal Shakti Department briefed the Lt Governor that the work on the said water supply project will be completed by the end of December this year.

A complainant namely Vidyut Vats, a resident of Dhar Road, Udhampur drew the attention of the authorities towards the blocked drain at Goal Mela near Jaganath Temple. The Lt Governor directed the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur to ensure the clearance of the drain within 10 days.

The Lt Governor also addressed the grievance of Sh Payar Singh of Ganote Chakka Bhartund, District Ramban regarding the issuance of BPL Ration Card in his favour.

Ms Rehana Batul, Secretary, Public Grievances conducted the proceedings of the LG’s Mulaqaat.

Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary; Sh R K Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department; Sh R.R Swain, DGP; Administrative Secretaries; Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, SSPs, HoDs and other senior officers were present, in person and through virtual mode.

CS office bids farewell to the outgoing Chief Secretary

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 30: The office of the Chief Secretary, J&K today bade farewell to the outgoing Chief Secretary, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta on his superannuation at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Mehta recalled his tenure as the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir and expressed his appreciation to the contribution and support provided by the staff of the office.

Dr. Mehta also acknowledged the contribution of the General Administration Department in promoting coordination within the administrative team of Jammu and Kashmir. He urged upon all officers and support staff to feel proud on the success of their efforts in promoting transparency and efficiency in J&K.

On this occasion, the staff extended warm wishes on retirement filled with health and happiness.

The event was attended by the Special Secretary, Additional Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, Under Secretaries, Private Secretaries besides other gazetted and non-gazetted staff of the twin sections of the Civil Secretariat here.

Advisor Bhatnagar chairs 66th BoDs meet of JKHPMC

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 30: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar chaired the 66th Board of Directors (BoDs) meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Horticulture Produce and Marketing Corporation (JKHPMC) at Civil Secretariat here.

The BoDs meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Finance, Santosh D Vaidya; Secretary Planning, Piyush Singla; Secretary in Agriculture Production department, Shabnam Kamili; MD JKHPMC, Imamuddin; Director Horticulture Jammu, Director Horticulture Production and Marketing and other concerned officers both in person and through video conferencing.

During the meeting, the BoDs held detailed deliberation on various development projects of the Corporation both under execution as well as the ones being implemented during the current financial year under CAPEX Budget.

The Board also reviewed the Corporation’s financial and operational performance during the previous year and took stock of progress made on the ongoing projects and initiatives.

The Board, during the meeting, also discussed the progress of ongoing projects like food processing and packaging centre at Doabagh, Food processing and packaging unit at Narwal Jammu, integrated hi-tech sorting , grading and packaging centre at Doabagh, common incubation centre for processing of fish and marine products at Achabal, common incubation centre for processing of dairy and bakery products at Narwal and similar other projects.

Speaking during the meeting, Advisor Bhatnagar impressed upon the management of the Corporation to optimise its operations and use of assets besides exploring new areas to maximize its potential. He also delved on them to bring technological diversification in the Corporation so that it can compete with present industries of food sector.

The Advisor further emphasized on the importance of fostering innovation, enhancing market outreach, and ensuring the welfare of the agricultural community in the region by promoting hi-tech horticulture activities.

During the meeting, MD, JKHPMC gave a detailed presentation on the progress of various ongoing projects of the corporation as well as other related aspects of the JKHPMC.
