Gurupurab celebrated with religious fervor, gaiety in Ramban

RAMBAN, NOVEMBER 27: The 554th Birthday of founder and first Guru of Sikhism, Guru Shri Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated with religious fervor and traditional gaiety here today.

The main programme was organised at Gurudwara Singh Sabha in Batote under the supervision of President, District Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee, Sanmokh Singh.

The Shabad-Keertan, Katha and pravachan on the teachings and life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji were the highlights of the celebration. Guru Granth Sahib Paath and Ardaas was recited.

To mark the auspicious occasion, Prabhaat Pheries with Nagar Keertan were organized by the Sikh devotees through the Batote town during the past ten days.

Meanwhile, DIG, CRPF, Jammu Sector, Akhilesh Kumar Singh alongwith his wife Sandhya Singh attended the Gurupurab programme at CRPF 84 Bn DETT Headquarter in Chanderkote.

On the occasion, after Sukhmani Sahib Paath, Shabad-Keertan and Paath was held.

Commandant, CRPF, Bn 84, Ranbir Singh, CRPF personnel and prominent citizens were present on the occasion. Langar was also served to devotees.
