DDC Kathua releases 4 publications highlighting Socio-Economic Profile of Kathua District

KATHUA, NOVEMBER 24: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kathua Rakesh Minhas today released 4 publications highlighting Socio-Economic Profile of the District, here at a brief ceremony held in his office chamber today.

The publications namely District Statistical Hand Book (2021-22), Village Amenity Directory (2022-23), Economic Review (2021-22) and District At a Glance (2022-23) highlight the basic demographic profile besides various developmental activities of different departments/sectors of District Kathua.

Additional District Development Commissioner Kathua, Ankur Mahajan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Ranjeet Singh, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Vishav Pratap Singh, Chief Planning Officer, Kathua Uttam Singh, District Statistics & Evaluation Officer Kathua, Ranjeet Thakur, Assistant Director (E&S) Mahesh Kumar and other Staff members of DSEO Office, Kathua were present in the release ceremony.

It is Pertinent to mention that the District Statistics and Evaluation Office Kathua is the Nodal agency for collection, compilation and dissemination of important statistical data in the District. The data contained in these publications will serve as an important tool for the researchers, Planners, Students and other users in their respective fields.

After releasing the publications, the DDC hailed the efforts of the District Statistics & Evaluation Office in collection, computerization and presentation of data and stressed on improvement of these publications in future with regular updating and wide coverage so that data shall be used by all stakeholders like policy makers, planners, students and researchers etc. He said that such publications play a vital role in highlighting the profile of the district. He also announced that the publications will be made available in public domain and citizens can download the same from the Official Website of the District Administration, Kathua and from the official website of District Statistics and Evaluation Officer, Kathua.
