Karnah Kupwara:In the picturesque region of Tangdhar, nestled amid the rugged terrain, a group of enthusiastic youth gathered at the Youth Centre under the umbrella of the Ministry of Tourism. Eager to explore the rich cultural tapestry of their homeland, they embarked on a unique journey – a two-month short-term course to become tour guides.

Under the guidance of seasoned instructors, these aspiring tour guides delved into the history, traditions, and natural wonders that made Tangdhar a hidden gem. Amid the majestic mountains and pristine landscapes, they learned the art of storytelling, mastering the anecdotes that would breathe life into the tales of their region.

To add a twist to their adventure, the Ministry of Tourism collaborated with the army, fostering a sense of discipline and resilience among the participants. The military instructors not only imparted valuable skills but also instilled a deep appreciation for teamwork and leadership.

As the weeks passed, the youth found themselves not only learning about Tangdhar’s rich heritage but also forging bonds that transcended their diverse backgrounds. The course became a melting pot of cultures, a microcosm of unity in diversity.

The grand finale of their training led them to organize guided tours for local and international visitors. Armed with newfound knowledge and a passion for their homeland, these young tour guides showcased the beauty of Tangdhar, taking visitors on a journey through its history, culture, and natural wonders.

The collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism, short-term course instructors, and the army proved to be a winning formula. The youth emerged not only as competent tour guides but also as ambassadors of their region, promoting tourism and fostering a sense of pride in the vibrant tapestry of Tangdhar.
