Chairman DLSA Ganderbal flags-off Awareness Mobile Van to commemorate the Legal Services week

GANDERBAL, NOVEMBER 03: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Services Committees Ganderbal and Kangan kick-started Legal Awareness and Outreach Programme in Ganderbal on the eve of celebration of Legal Services Week and to commemorate the Legal Services Day, to be celebrated on 09th of November, 2023.

The said weeklong Awareness and Outreach Programmes will be carried out throughout the week by DLSA Ganderbal from 03rd of November to 09th of November, 2023 in District Ganderbal.

The week long Legal Awareness and Outreach programme started today by deploying awareness Mobile Van to create awareness, aimed to reach to every person in the district, which was flagged-off by Chairman DLSA, Ganderbal, Ritesh Kumar Dubey in presence of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ganderbal, Fayaz Ahmad Qureshi, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal, Civil Judge Sr. Division, Nusrat Ali Hakak, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Ganderbal, Nikhil Borkar, Chairman TLSC, Ganderbal, Mohammad Waseem Mirza, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Ganderbal, Mehnaz Qadir, President District Bar Association Ganderbal, Sajad Hyder Salathi, Panel Lawyers, Advocates, Staff Members of DLSA Ganderbal, PLVs of District Ganderbal and Coordinator, 181- Women’s Help Line Bilal Ahmad Bhat, etc.

On the occasion, the Chairman DLSA, Ganderbal Ritesh Kumar Dubey said that the week long Legal Awareness and Outreach programme is started with an aim to provide equal justice and free legal aid to marginalised people with access to justice in the truest sense of the word.

He said, DLSA Ganderbal is continuously working to achieve the goal of ensuring “Equal Justice and Free Legal Aid” and to remove impediments besides economic barrier like legal illiteracy and complicated judicial procedures and have a responsibility to ensure that the underprivileged, disadvantaged, oppressed, and weaker segments of society have easier access to justice.

On the Occasion, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal said that this authority render a number of services to assist the marginalized sections of the society and to actualize the statutory goals of ensuring access to justice for all.

The purpose of the legal awareness and outreach programme is to educate the general public on their legal rights, entitlements, and remedies as provided by the Indian Constitution and other welfare laws.

Bilal Ahmad Bhat along with PLVs of District Ganderbal with full fervor started the journey of imparting mass legal awareness and free legal services from premises of District Court Ganderbal after the flagging off ceremony and started the campaign by his speech and slogans like “Break your silence & raise your voice”.

The van housing the PLV’s and Coordinator, 181- Women’s Help Line Bilal Ahmad Bhat reached to the unreached and spread awareness in whole district particularly Kangan, Ganiwan, Gund Kullan, Rezan and Gagangeer.

During the journey while spreading awareness number of applications have been received from the legal aid help seekers.
