“Tragic Karnah Road Accident Claims Six Lives, Evoking Mourning and Calls for Stricter Safety Measures”

KARNAH: In Karnah, six individuals who perished in a road accident were laid to rest in their hometown of Gabra Karnah amidst a mournful atmosphere accompanied by the sorrowful presence of thousands on Wednesday. The incident involved a Sumo vehicle from Tangdhar to Gabra losing control at Niti Top the previous evening, leading to the tragic accident. As news of the incident circulated on social media, local residents and law enforcement swiftly responded, initiating rescue efforts and all of them were shifted to Tangdhar Hospital. Among those who passed away were 12 year old sayeeda bano, 55 year-old Mohammad Saeed Reena, 18-year-old Razia Bano, and 33-year-old Nusrat Begum, while ten others were transferred to Srinagar for medical care. Additionally,60 year old Mohd ismail and 55-year-old Farooq Ahmed Babzada passed away near Sadhana Gili during transportation to Srinagar. The deceased included individuals from various areas, and upon their arrival, the heart-wrenching sight of women, children, and elders grieving, beating their chests, evoked deep sorrow. While mourning the loss of four, news of two more deaths surfaced. The accident left eight injured, with one transferred to Handwara and seven to Srinagar, three of whom, including the driver, are in critical condition. Those affected expressed grief and urged the government to support the affected families and enhance medical treatment. They also implored the authorities to enforce stringent measures against traffic rule violators to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
