SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 01: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz today chaired Block Diwas at Gagren, Shopian.

On the occasion, PRIs, elders, youth and prominent citizens from village Gagren and other villages raised their demands with ADC.

Among others, ASP, Shopian, CEO, LDM, PRIs, BDO Ramnagri and other district officers and officials attended the programme.

The issues raised by PRIs and public include, Widening of Irrigation Canal Reshnagri, shortage of power supply in Heerpora, Boundary Wall for NTPHC Ramnagri and replacement of damaged wooden electric poles, laying of water pipes in Kichpathri Devpora and road connectivity, etc.

Speaking on the occasion, ADC assured that all genuine issues and grievances of public importance would be taken up with concerned authorities for early redressal. He impressed for speedy completion of developmental works in the area and stressed on concerned that work on road projects be taken up for early execution and ensure better connectivity to the local population besides other basic amenities.

He also assured of smooth functioning of all existing water schemes, reservoirs and filtration plants in the area to ensure smooth supply of potable drinking water to the locals.

ADC stated that keeping in view the ensuing winter, improvement works in the HT and LT lines including shifting of public utilities shall be carried out on priority in the area.

LDM, Shopian, Farooq Ahmed Bhat informed people about various banking schemes and urged people to avail benefits under them which include Prime Minister’s Jan Jeevan Yojna (PMJJY), Prime Minister’s Suraksha Bima Youjna (PMSBY) etc.

On the occasion, BMO Shopian urged people to register for Sehat cards to avail health insurance benefits up to Rs. 5 lakh.
