SKUAST-K, KVK Budgam organize Field Day on Paddy (SR-4) at Khag Budgam

BUDGAM, OCTOBER 04: KVK Budgam organised Field Day on Paddy (SR-4) at the far-flung area of Khag Block, village Hamchipora and District Budgam.

The main objective of the programme was to demonstrate the farmers about the newly released HYV of paddy (SR-4) so that the farmers could witness the performance of the HYV of paddy (SR-4) compared to local land races.

During the programme, about 25 farmers were present and the Senior Scientist and Head KVK Budgam (Dr. Bilal Ahmad Lone) interacted with the farmers regarding the performance of the variety in the field and took the feedback from them.

The farmers were very much satisfied with the crop yield and were thankful to the KVK Budgam and NSP SKUAST-K for providing the seed of HYV of paddy free of cost and at proper time.

Scientists from KVK Budgam regularly monitored the performance of SR-4 variety at various crop growth stages from sowing till harvest. The farmers were also advised to share the seed with the fellow farmers so that the whole village will adopt the new variety of paddy and will get maximum benefits.

Besides this Incharge FLD (Dr. Sabia Akhter), Dr. Bhinish Shakeel (SMS Home Science), Dr. Ambreen Nabi also interacted with the farmers
