District Environment Committee discuss implementation of conservation Plan

DODA, SEPTEMBER 25: Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Doda, Dr R K Bharti today chaired a meeting of the District Environment Committee here in DC Office.

The meeting was attended by the Committee members including GM, DIC, CMO, DFO Doda (T), DMO, Div Officer Pollution Control Board Doda and Executive officers of all the Municipalities of District Doda.

Dr Bharti asked the ACD and DFO (Territorial) Doda to submit the plan for the conservation and protection of Wet Lands in the district, to be added in the main District Environment Plan.

The ADM stressed on close coordination among different stakeholders for effective implementation of the District Environment plans and scientific disposal of wastes in the district.

MC Doda was instructed to keep check on burning of waste in the Town and impose penalty on violators in accordance to the guidelines of NGT.

The stakeholders were asked to organize seminars and symposiams in all the Panchayats of the district in collaboration with the education department for creating mass awareness regarding the ill effects of single use plastic.
