KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 16: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan today handed over a cheque of Rs.3.66 crore to J&K Bank for payment to Building & Other Construction Workers beneficiaries under Lower Education Assistance scheme. Assistant Labour Commissioner Kupwara, Mohammad Arif, Labour Officer and other concerned were present at the occasion.
Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that empowerment and welfare of the weaker sections of the society is among the top priorities of the Government. She asked the concerned officers to ensure timely redressal of grievances of the Labour beneficiaries so that they do not face any inconvenience in getting benefits under different labour welfare schemes of the Government.
Giving details, the ALC informed that the amount of Rs.3,65,67000 under Lower Education Assistance scheme will be credited to the bank accounts of 9117 Labour beneficiaries of the district to facilitate education of their children.
He said that the Labour department has also distributed financial assistance under various other schemes among the target beneficiaries of the district. These include Rs.10.20 lakh under Death Assistance scheme, 1.45 lakh under Chronic Disease, 0.10 lakh under Disability and Rs.3 lakh under Higher Education scheme.
