KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 02: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, in collaboration with RSETI (Rural Self Employment Training Institutes) team organised an awareness programme here at Banderna.

During the programme, the RSETI team educated the participant regarding the initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) for creating Self-employment opportunities for the unemployed rural youth, particularly those below the poverty line.

RSETIs will identify, orient, train and assist rural youth to take up self-employment as an alternative career and a source of livelihood, they were told.

Youth in the age group of 18-45 years, irrespective of Caste, Creed or Religion are eligible to undergo training at RSETI, which is free of cost. RSETI will provide handholding support in availing Bank Credit Linkages and Govt. Schemes to establish their Self Employment. RSETIs are managed by banks with active cooperation from the Government of India and State Governments that promotes the fulfilment of women’s potential through education, skill development and employment, giving paramount importance to the elimination of poverty, illiteracy and ill health among women through various skill development programmes.

DHEW members also discussed various women centric schemes and the benefits that the government provides to women. Schemes like State Marriage Assistance Scheme, Ladli Beti, Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, PMVVY, Widow Pension, Disability Pension, OSC, Women Helpline (181) and Women Entrepreneurship programmes like Tejaswani and PMEGP were discussed.

At the end of the programme, the RSETI team asked the participants to form a group of 30 interested females after which the Institute will impart skill training in their own area and help them to set up a profitable venture.
