Illegal extraction and transportation of minerals; Police arrests 04 persons, seizes 04 vehicles in Baramulla

August 31:Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have arrested 04 persons and seized 04 vehicles in Baramulla.

A police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Shri Mohd Nawaz-JKPS assisted by SHO PS Pattan & Incharge PP Kungamdara, seized 03 tractors and arrested 03 drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Babagund Pattan & Goom Ahmadpora Pattan. They have been identified as Mohd Ramzan Wani son of Ab Jabbar resident of Khore Sherabad, Mohd Younis Mir son of Abdul Ahad resident of Babagund Pattan and Suhail Abbas Dar son of Nazir Ahmad resident of Goom Ahmadpora Pattan.

Similarly, a police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Shri Altaf Ahmad-JKPS assisted by IC PP Delina, seized a tipper and arrested its driver identified as Shahnaz Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir resident of Kalampora Delina for its involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Darpora Delina.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been taken up.

Persons found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.“`
