Instructs for providing better sports infrastructure to the youth
SHOPIAN, AUGUST 25: In order to provide a better sports ecosystem to the youth, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today visited Allowpora Playground and inspected it to oversee facilities being set up for its development.
The DC on the occasion directed Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) to prepare DPR for upgradation of the playground in order to facilitate the youth of the area with required sports infrastructure.
He also instructed concerned to take necessary measures for strengthening the boundary wall around the playground to prevent any unregulated entry into the premises.
On the occasion, a delegation of local youth also called on the DC and put forth their suggestions with regard to upgradation of sports infrastructure in the playground, besides other developmental works of the area.
While interacting with them, the DC said that the sports have a positive and constructive role in social and psychological development besides engaging youth in positive pursuits.
He said various initiatives are being taken for the development of requisite sports infrastructure in the district.
The DC assured that every possible support for conduct of sports activities shall be provided by the Administration to the youth.
Later, DC visited Kanipora and Gagren and took stock of the road connectivity and other developmental works. He also met people of the area and listened to various developmental requirements.
During the visit, the DC was accompanied by the ACD Shopian, BDOs and other concerned officers and officials.
