Roll Observer reviews progress made in updation of Municipal Electoral rolls

In order to review progress made in updation of Municipal Electoral rolls under the special Summary Revision, a meeting of officers was held under the chairmanship of Municipal Electoral Roll Observer (Additional District Development Commissioner) Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather at mini-secretariat here.

During the meeting the Observor reviewed progress made in updation of Municipal Electoral rolls.

Focus was laid to increase the number of inclusions in the ongoing revision w.r.t 01-07-2023 qualifying date, so that no voter is left behind.

Chair impressed upon the officers to maintain the Electoral Population Ratio so that voter from each age group shall be enlisted in the Municipal Electoral Roll.

The Polling Station Level Officers were directed to visit each household, and rectify the errors if any of a voter, so that the electoral roll shall be free from all errors.

The meeting was attended by Electoral Registration Officer (Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam) for Municipal Committee Devsar/Frisal, Electoral Registration Officer (Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kulgam) for Municipal Council Kulgam and Municipal Committee Yaripora, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (Executive Officers) of Municipal Committees of Kulgam, Devsar, Yaripora, Frisal and all Polling Station Level Officers (PSLOS).
