Speaking on the occasion, Syed Fahad Andrabi extended greetings to the people and said, “It is a great pride and honor that we are born in a free country, governed by a constitution that guarantees us fundamental rights, civil rights, as well as freedom of speech and expression. The independence was achieved after a prolonged struggle and numerous sacrifices by the people of India in 1947. As we celebrate the 77th Independence Day today, we must never forget the sacrifices made by people while fighting against colonial British rule.”

Andrabi urged people to contribute their efforts to strengthen democracy and democratic institutions in Jammu and Kashmir, in order to enjoy the benefits of living in a free and independent country.
