Pays rich tributes to all Veers for their sacrifices for the Nation

The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Akshay Labroo today participated in a programme held under ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign at Panchayat halqa Mamat in Block Budgam.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC paid rich tributes to the veers of the nation and highlighted the importance of remembering them for their selfless services and sacrifices for the nation.

On the occasion, the DC, in presence of local PRIs also unveiled, Silaphalakam set in memory and honor of our veers and brave hearts.

During the programme, the DC also led a Panch Pran pledge with all participants promising to remain committed to the cause of nation building and development.

PRIs, ACD Budgam, BDO, school children, local youth, elders and government officials also participated in the pledge ceremony.

The DC also led a plantation drive and laid emphasis on saving Mother Nature, besides a National Flag hoisting ceremony was also held with participants joyfully participating in the National Anthem sung on the occasion.

Lastly, sacred “mitti” was collected by youth in kalash and kalash yatra was carried out by the local youth in which DC Budgam also participated to encourage youth of the area.
