ACB celebrates ‘Corruption Free J&K’ programme at Bandipora

In order to promote transparency, accountability and a corruption-free administration, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) North Kashmir Saturday celebrated ‘Corruption Free J&K’ initiative at Bandipora.

Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bandipora Ali Afsar Khan presided over the event.

The programme was attended by different sectoral and district officers from district administration Bandipora besides students fraternity.

Deputy Superintendent ACB North Kashmir, Farooq Ahmad said that the objective of the event was to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of corruption and to foster a culture of integrity and honesty within the public administration. He spoke on different consequences of corrupt practices and the steps being taken by the bureau to tackle this pressing issue.

The ADDC stressed on the significance of creating a corruption-free environment, ensuring equitable distribution of resources, and fostering an atmosphere of trust and cooperation between the government and the public.

During the programme a series of informative presentations and interactive sessions were organized to facilitate a better understanding of the detrimental effects of corruption on the socio-economic fabric of the region.

Sales Taxes Officer, Mehraj Wani shed light on various preventive measures and avenues available for reporting corrupt practices. The attendees were encouraged to become whistleblowers and play an active role in identifying and eradicating corruption at all levels.
